The three-year full-time bachelor's degree is primarily intended for those who plan to continue their studies in further master's degree programmes. The study includes courses of a technical nature that will prepare students for direct employment in practice. The first two years of study are common to all students, and only then do students choose their major in their respective department. The student then completes his/her final bachelor's thesis in this department. The studies at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering are duly concluded with a state final examination, which includes the defence of the bachelor thesis.

Graduates of Bachelor's degree programmes are awarded the academic degree of Bachelor (abbreviated as Bc. before their name).
